“Do I still need a Facebook page!?!” Though some may suggest that Facebook is dead, this is not true. Facebook recently reached the milestone of 2 billion daily active users, and their parent company Meta reaches more than 3.7 billion people monthly across its family of apps, including almost 3 billion monthly on Facebook (February 2023 earnings report).

Facebook continues to be one of the top social channels used for business because more than 70% of the online population in the US & Canada is there – especially the 40+ demographic. Your page is your professional presence for your brand or business on Facebook, where you can gather online reviews, and do targeted ads to reach your potential ideal audience. Facebook pages have a variety of useful features including the ability to share updates & information about your business, Facebook Groups (you can network in Groups or create your own group!), live video broadcasting, ‘Events’ – to promote your virtual or in-person events, Insights (statistics for your page), and more.

The challenge? Organic or free reach for Facebook page posts has been significantly reduced over the years. You build your audience on your page (or struggle to do this), and then few of your page followers actually see your content. Because of this, it’s challenging to get exposure and engagement for your business without paying for ads. To have success with your page, you need to understand how it works so you can use it effectively. This includes learning about newer features such as 24-hour (disappearing) Stories and Reels (short vertical videos), and understanding Facebook’s algorithms & different feeds, which determine who sees your content, so you can use this to your advantage.

Learn about changes for Facebook pages, how to set your page up for success, determine what & how often to share, how to increase your engagement and grow your following over time, and how to measure the success of your page. I will share some brief Facebook advertising tips, but this course does not cover how to do Facebook ads. I will provide resources for those who want to learn more about Facebook advertising.

SPECIAL NOTE: There have been many changes from ‘classic’ Facebook pages, to the ‘new pages experience’, and also as Meta (Facebook) changed from its ‘Business Manager’ to its new ‘Meta Business Suite’ tool/dashboard. For this course I will personally work with each participant to make sure you have your page set up properly – including security settings.

For the Q&A session you can drop in and get your question answered and then leave – you do not have to attend for the whole hour. ✔ Pros & cons of the Reviews/Recommendations feature – How to handle bad reviews, & how to get more reviews on your page to build credibility

✔ How to get more exposure & engagement for your page using the 24 hour (disappearing) Stories feature

✔ How to create, decorate and share Stories – PLEASE NOTE: We will not have time in class to cover all of the creative features of Stories – you will get access to a step-by-step tutorial video that covers more features.

✔ How to use Facebook’s free ‘Meta Business Suite’ dashboard for posting content from desktop and scheduling posts for the future

✔ How to connect your Instagram business account to your page, so you can use the ‘Meta Business Suite’ dashboard to schedule content to share on both your Facebook page AND Instagram account!

✔ How to use the Business Suite mobile app to manage your page from your smartphone (formerly the ‘Facebook Pages Manager’ app)

 

Session #4 – We’ll cover:

 ✔ How to get discovered and increase engagement for your page using Facebook’s Reels feature for pages (short form, vertical videos or Facebook’s TikTok copycat ) 

✔ Tour of Facebook Reels

✔ What to share, and how often to post Reels

✔ How to use the creative tools built into Facebook Reels to make short video content – PLEASE NOTE: We will not have time in class to cover all of the creative features of Reels – you will get access to a step-by-step tutorial video that covers more features.

✔Facebook ads tips – including the ‘Boost post’ button vs. Facebook Ads Manager – PLEASE NOTE: This course does not cover how to do Facebook advertising, but you will get a list of resources in case you want to learn more.

✔ A summary of how to grow your page followers over time

✔Daily/Weekly Maintenance Checklist – Ongoing management of your page, including how to check your notifications to make sure you’re not missing any communication from your audience.
